Regular Classroom Program

Pacific School includes four traditional classrooms spanning transitional kindergarten through sixth grade.
The classrooms at Pacific School are combination grade level classes, which gives the children the benefit of a wider range of ages and abilities. Younger children have role models for both social and academic success, and older children have the opportunity to be leaders. Both learn tolerance and there is a sense of acceptance between students of diverse ages, genders, and backgrounds.
The social studies and science curriculums in our regular classrooms are often rotated to cover adopted content thoroughly over two years, and other content areas are handled in a variety of ways, including grade level group works, individualized assignments, guided choice, and differentiation.
Integrated, thematic units provide interesting ways to learn basic skills in math, reading, and language arts, while building on interests, as well as promoting higher level thinking skills and cooperation. Teachers are trained to support different learning styles, providing interventions for students working below grade level and challenges for students with exceptional strengths, and all classrooms offer rich programs with hands-on projects, field trips, and art & music.
