Jennifer Konicke, Classified Employee of the Year for Santa Cruz County!
In 2024, Jennifer Konicke one the Classified Employee of the Year recognition for Santa Cruz County. Jennifer Konicke has worked in many roles at Pacific Elementary School including After School Program Coordinator, Classroom Aide, Teacher Sub, Cafeteria Aide, and in 2024-25 will be taking on the role of tech/media literacy/GATE instructor. Anyone that knows or works with Jennifer knows she 100% deserves this award. Congratulations, Jennifer- we are lucky to have you! |

Library: In October of 2023, our amazing 5th grader, Scarlett, used her vast knowledge of the wonderful and favorite book series, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, to won $750.00 for our library. Way to go Scarlett!!
Tech/GATE: In November of 2022, Wendy Milette published her first children's book for ages 3-9. It is available on Amazon! She donated a copy to the Library and the Kindergarten.
FoodLab: In February of 2020, Emelia Miguel and Violy Law led a team of students to win first place in the Professional Theme category of the Boardwalk's annual Clam Chowder Cookoff, and in 2019 and 2018 they won second place in the same category. In 2017 they won first place for the most original professional team. 2020 Sentinel Article.
Superintendent/Principal: In 2019, Eric Gross was honored by the Association of California School Administrators as the Superintendent/Principal of the year for a three-county area.
Resource: In May of 2017, Lori Postie was named “Exceptional Special Educator” by the Community Advisory Committee (CAC) of the Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA). If those terms don’t mean anything to you, it is like she is special education teacher of the year for the county.
Preschool: Pacific Preschool Teacher Stacey Reynolds received the Early Educator of the Year Award at the Central Coast Early Care and Education Conference in October of 2016.

In 2023, our very own Fourth grader, Morgan Schromm, will be a published author! Poems from around the country were submitted to this year's Young American Poetry Digest. One (or more) of her poems was selected to be published. We will get to find out in October of 2023 which of her poems were selected when we receive our copy of the Digest. More information.
