Parking at Pacific Elementary School in Davenport
It's true: parking is limited around Pacific School!
Fed Ex and UPS, tour buses and city buses, waste management, food deliveries, book mobile, and our Davenport resident neighbors all need to stop and/or park on Ocean St plus drive along it to reach Marine View and exit Davenport. We have had many problems with vehicles not being able to make the tight turns near the corner of our school due to illegally parked cars. Please remember:
So where can I park? Generally parking can be found near San Vicente Church, specifically:
Please pay attention to the signs in the areas surrounding school and give yourself a few extra minutes to find legal and safe parking and walk the rest of the way to school. There is no parking on either side of Marine View behind the school or past the school in the same direction as this picture. The street is too narrow for safe parking and traffic.

There is ABSOLUTELY NO PARKING, even for pickup and drop-off, at the corner of Ocean Street and Marine View near the dumpster. Parking in this area has caused NUMEROUS ACCIDENTS AND PROBLEMS.
Translation: These signs mean that IT IS LEGAL TO PARK in this area during school hours.

Also: Please Use Davenport Avenue, NOT Center Street (the ally between the school and the Life Lab garden)
Pacific's neighbors have expressed concerns about traffic safety on Center St. It is a narrow one-lane road, there is a blind corner at the stop sign by the jail, and there are often pedestrians (mostly parents/students) walking on the road because there is no sidewalk. A safer alternative to use during drop-off and pick-up times is Davenport Avenue, which is much wider, has sidewalks, and has better visibility.
If you use Center Street (the ally between the school and the Life Lab garden) when picking up or dropping off, please drive very slowly and come to a FULL STOP at the stop sign at the old jail. We have had several close calls involving Pacific School students and cars that did not stop. Thanks!
