Pacific School Hours

Preschool 
All school days: 8:25 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Little Rec is available 12:15-2:45. Big Rec is available 2:45-5:15 for older preschoolers (TK age) only.

2025-26: 8:15 a.m. - 12:10 p.m. Little Rec will be available 12:10-2:45 for a limited number of preschoolers who are able to use the bathroom independently.

Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten
All school days: 8:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
Little Rec is available 12:15-2:45 and big rec is available 2:45-5:15.

2025-26: 8:15 a.m. - 2:45 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays; 8:15 a.m. - 12:10 p.m. Wednesdays. Rec will be available from the end of class until 5:15 daily.

First, Second, and Third Grades
Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri (except last day of school): 8:30 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.
All Wednesdays and the last day of school: 8:30 a.m. - 1:10 p.m.

Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Grades
Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri (except last day of school): 8:30 a.m. - 3:10 p.m.
All Wednesdays and the last day of school: 8:30 a.m. - 1:10 p.m.

​Independent Study
Independent Study (IS) students in TK-6th grade attend Mon, Tues, Thurs only, except that they also attend the FIRST and LAST days of school, even if they fall on a Wed or Fri.

Zoom classes are available Wednesdays 9:30-10:00 a.m. and Fridays 9:00-9:30 a.m. Contact Joy Haas, jhaas @ pacificesd.org, for the zoom link.​ All Pacific School students, including IS and 5-day students, are invited to join zoom classes any Wednesday or Friday they are not attending in-person class.

Before School
No supervision is available for any grade level before 8:15 a.m. Supervision will be provided on the main yard from 8:15 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. for 1st-6th grade students.

After School Recreation
Little Rec is available for Pre/TK/K students 12:15-2:45. All children who are younger than TK age must be picked up by 2:45.

2025-26: Little Rec will be available 12:10-2:45 daily for a limited number of preschoolers who are able to use the bathroom independently.

Big Rec for TK-6th grade students is available Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri from 2:45 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. and Wednesdays from 1:10 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. All TK-6th students must be picked up by 5:15 p.m. (Or take the 5:17 bus into Santa Cruz.) Big rec is not available for children who are younger than TK age. Our youngest children must be picked up by 2:45.

2025-26: Big Rec for TK-6th grade students will be available 2:45-5:15 Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays and 12:10-5:15 Wednesdays.

In keeping with Pacific School's over 100-year history, we still use a hand bell to call students together for our daily all-school meeting.
