The Pacific School Library is located in the heart of the school where people pass through and is very easy for most classrooms to access. Thanks to the previous support of the Davenport Cement Plant and the ongoing support of Pacific School's Parents' Club, the library has an extensive and updated collection. Parents' Club also supports our librarian, Doña Bumgarner, who works with our volunteer librarian, Noel Bock. The library works hand in hand with the Reading Buddy program, where higher grades visit lower grades every week so that each student can read with his or her buddy. The library also promotes the Birthday Book program, where children can donate a copy of a favorite book on their birthday. A special plate is put in the front of the book commemorating the birthday and naming the donor. To contribute a birthday book or volunteer in the library, please contact your classroom teacher or School Librarian Doña Bumgarner: dbumgarner@pacificesd.org. |
