School GovernancePacific Elementary School has an elected three-member School Board, a Superintendent/Principal, and a School Site Council/Preschool Advisory Council. The School Board hires and oversees the Superintendent/Principal and sets major school policies. The Superintendent/Principal directs the day-to-day operations of the school. The School Site Council serves as an advisory and working group, helping to shape specific school plans and implementing the annual family survey.
Superintendent/Principal and Preschool Director
Since November of 2015, Eric Gross has served as Pacific School’s Superintendent/Principal and Preschool Director. Mr. Gross is dedicated to maintaining and expanding upon Pacific School’s decades-long traditions of excellence in education through hands-on learning and empowering staff to share their passions with the students. Mr. Gross believes in incorporating the most comprehensive educational research into daily school practices. He is bilingual in English and Spanish and previously served as a Director, Principal, Assistant Principal, Teacher, and Aide before joining Pacific School. Mr. Gross says of his job, "Officially, I am the superintendent, the principal, and the preschool director. Unofficially, I am the day time custodian and the substitute yard supervisor." In 2019, Mr. Gross was honored by the Association of California School Administrators as the Superintendent/Principal of the year for a three-county area. |
